PATTY the PLATYPUS

Difficulty: Beginner

Size: Finished product is approximately 5″ long, but can be made to any size.

Terminology:

  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet
  • inc: single crochet increase
  • dec: single crochet decrease
  • MR: magic ring
  • MC: main color
  • SC: secondary color

Materials:

  • 1 skein of any color yarn (worsted weight/4ply)
  • 1 skein of yellow color yarn (worsted weight/4ply)
  • Size E-4 (3.5mm) crochet hook
  • 9 mm black plastic safety eyes
  • Polyester fiberfill
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stitch markers

Notes:

  • You may use any yarn weight and hook size, as long as it creates neat stitches such that the fiberfill will not show through.
  • Work in continuous rounds throughout. Do not join or turn unless otherwise stated.
  • Use of stitch markers is recommended.

R2: 1 inc in each sc (12)

R3: [1 sc, 1 inc] x6 (18)

R4: [2 sc, 1 inc] x6 (24)

R5: [3 sc, 1 inc] x6 (30)

R6: 1 sc in each sc (30)

Add safety eyes between R4 & R5

R8-R11: 1 sc in each sc (30)
